Collections Overview
The core collection is almost entirely of local provenance and was assembled by the museum's founder and a local resident, Annie Robinson. The theme of Maryport maritime history and painting tradition has been developed through subsequent donations by townspeople and those connected with the port and is represented through objects, paintings, models, photographs and general social history objects.
Display Overview
The displays features themes relating to the local, social, maritime and political history of Maryport, in addition to exhibitions on Fletcher Christian (of the 'Bounty') and Thomas Ismay (owner of the Titanic).
Star Objects
