Building Information
The last surviving pair of fishermen's cottages from the North End community, built of brick with a pantiled roof.
Collections Overview
This is a community run museum recording the life and times of the old North End fishing community in King's Lynn and the colourful personalities of individual North Enders.
Display Overview
The North End was a very distinctive fishing community within King's Lynn, with a robust personality all its own. Most of the North End was demolished in the 1960's and the community was dispersed, but the last two fishermen's cottages were saved. These have been restored and furnished to reflect the hard and crowded conditions for fisherfolk in the 1850's and 1920's. Other displays are housed in a former general shop and feature fishing and seafaring as well as the other trades, industries and occupations. The adjoining former Naval Reserve pub houses the local and family history archive and educational facilities
