Edward Russell Ayrton
Dates: 1882 / 1914
Short Biography: British Egyptologist and archaeologist. He excavated a number of sites in Egypt. In 1911, he accepted an appointment in the Archaeological Survey of Ceylon and accidentally drowned there while on a shooting expedition.
