Overview of collections

Both archive/library and museum material covering the history of Waltham Forest, covering domestic, personal and family life, working life and industry and community life. Topographical arts and major photographic archive (about 80,000 images), plus oral history recordings. Archaeological collection includes excavation archives transferred from Newham Museum Service, 1990s.

Displays include domestic life and reconstructed Victorian parlour, toys & games, clothing, "Made In Waltham Forest" and the police force and prison cell.
