Overview of collections

The Aycliffe and District Bus Preservation Society was established in 1980 and registered as a charity in September 1982; it is a member of the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society. The collection comprises 5 buses and a number of related items including ticket machines, uniforms, badges, time table and display boards, vehicle main tenance and service manuals and a small collection of photographs, but contacts with extensive collections of photographs promised on a first refusal basis to the Society.

Overview of how collections are displayed

Currently a central location is being sought.The Society provides for a range of activities from the restoration of its vehicles to teaching skills to members, attendance at public functions, vehicle rallies and gatherings, and sale of die-cast models. All these activities help to maintain an interesting and rewarding recreational facility designed to put into use all the abilities of the Society's active membership.
