The Trevithick Trust is the first ecomuseum Britain and is a management organisation which, while owning no sites and few objects, plays an influential role in the protection of the industrial and engineering heritage and in the development and opening to the public of new sites throughout Cornwall.

The Trevithick Trust currently manages: the Cornish Mines and Engines for the National Trust; Tolgus Tin for Cornish Goldsmiths; Trevithick's Cottage and Levant Mine also for the National Trust; Geevor Tin Mine for Cornwall County Council; Porthcurno Museum of Submarine Telegraphy for the Porthcurno Trust; Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum for the Wheal Martyn Trustees; and the lighthouses at Lizard and Pendeen for the Trinity House.
