Overview of collections

The collections cover most aspects of human and natural history. Whilst the museum is naturally best known for its ceramics collections, it is also strong in many other areas, including Biology, Geology, Archaeology and Fine Art.

Overview of how collections are displayed

This is a large multi-disciplinary museum with the range of material that one would expect and exceptional collections in the field of ceramics. There are 'permanent' galleries depicting the geology and wildlife to be found in and around Stoke-on-Trent, the archaeology and community history locally, changing fashions and an art gallery. Presentation uses all current display techniques, including hands-on and multi-media presentations as appropriate.
