Overview of collections

the collections, administered by Rotherham Museums and Arts on behalf of the Trustees, include uniforms, medals, weapons, commemorative items, archives, photographs and other objects associated with the Regiment and its forbears.
The Duke of Wellington Regiment and its museum in Halifax (Bankfield) as successor to the Yand L offers loan material for display, research and publication.

Overview of how collections are displayed

Located in Rotherham Arts Centre, the museum brings the Regiment's story vividly to life using a unique collection of military objects and personal memorabilia. There is over 200 years of military history on display from 1758 to 1968 vividly brought to life, from the Seven Years War to the Somme and from Nive to Normandy.
NB Clifton Park is closing for refurbishment and The Gallery and Regimental Museum will close to the public for August 2002. The Gallery will function as an education space until Clifton Park Museum re-opens in 2004, after which its normal programme of temporary exhibitions will be re-instated.

Star Objects at this location

The Tiger and Rose Centrepiece
This magnificent silver table centrepiece was presented by all of the officers serving with the Second Battalion between 1927 and 1929. It was made to commemorate the Battalion's role in the Great War 1914 - 1918.
