Overview of collections

Tate has the national collections of British Art and of international modern art and the entire Collection is online searchable by subject, artist or more specific criteria. JMW Turner bequest is in the Turner collection link. Over 64,000 works are illustrated, part of a major Tate initiative called Insight, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and New Opportunities Fund.

Tate Britain is the national gallery of British art from 1500 to the present day, and has the greatest collection of British art in the world, including works by Blake, Constable, Epstein, Gainsborough, Gilbert and George, Hatoum, Hirst, Hockney, Hodgkin, Hogarth, Moore, Rossetti, Sickert, Spencer, Stubbs and Turner.
